Hi, it’s Aadi. Mischa and I are here with Glory Alley, the star of The Wish Thief by C. D. Verhoff.
[Aadi] We’re glad you can be here. Then start off with something simple. Who or what are you?
[Glory] Glory Alley, the fourth of six siblings.
[Mischa] That’s a huge family compared to those in Nacerma. We don’t know anyone with that many children.
[Aadi] What are your vitals?
[Glory] I am 14. Female. And human, but I live on Tullah, the planet closest to Earth in the spectrum.
[Aadi] What part do you play in the story?
[Glory] I am the unlikely heroine.
[Aadi] How would you describe your book?
[Glory] Family drama meets fantasy and science fiction
[Aadi] Tell me about where you live?
[Glory] Tullah and Earth are very different, yet very much alike in appearance and human development. Their inhabitants know similar hardships, hopes and dreams. Separated by the vastness of time and space, the planetary sisters have never met, yet they spin toward the same inevitable end. At least they did until the day I set Tullah on a strange new course.
[Aadi] Who do you live with?
[Glory] I live on a dilapidated farm with my alcoholic father and five rowdy siblings. The older ones like to push me around, but little George adores me because I look out for him when Dad gets mean. My grandparents moved in a few years ago to get Child Protective Services off of our back. Unfortunately, Grandpa’s dementia is getting worse and Nana’s eyesight is failing. It’s probably only a matter of time before that lady from child protective services comes snooping around again.
[Aadi]What’s the most important thing in your life right now?
[Glory] Keeping Child Protective Services from breaking my family apart.
[Aadi] That sounds scary.
[Mischa] What’s the worst thing someone ever did to you?
[Glory] They kidnapped me, took my to a strange new world, and made my own worst fears come to life. Talk about scary!
[Mischa] What’s the worst thing you’ve done to someone?
[Glory] I held a mystical stone for ransom from its guardians, inadvertently risking the lives of millions if aliens on another world.
[Mischa] Read any good books lately?
[Glory] Rocks, Minerals and Gemstones Guide for Intermediate to Advanced Rockhounds
[Mischa] I want to talk to you after this interview and get a few suggestions for books.
[Aadi] What type of places do you hang out in?
[Glory] I love exploring the winding tunnels and caverns below Queen’s Mesa with my best buddy, Clash.
[Aadi] What’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen?
[Glory] That’s easy—the mystical Elboni Stone.
[Aadi] Do you have any magical items? Where did you get them?
[Glory] Again, the Elboni, which I found during a spelunking expedition through Queen’s Mesa. The problem is that its magic can only be accessed by the three guardians of the stone. Hence, the reason I decided to hold it for ransom—a magical wish in exchange for the Elboni’s return.
[Mischa] Okay. Last question. Who would play you in the movie?
[Glory] Bailee Madison, but she would need to gain twenty or thirty pounds for the role.
