It seems the busier I get, the faster time goes. The 3rd Quarter of 2017 hurtled at light speed (maybe a little faster).
2018 is going to be no different.
A gazillion to-dos
It’s already almost half through the month and I’ve barely gotten to touch my writing. Book covers, Superversive SF site redesign, and off line activities have taken up much of my time.
I’m pretty sure I was abducted by aliens sometime during the past month, because I don’t remember several days at all. It might be because I’m just so busy that the days blend together, but I prefer blaming aliens. It’s sounds far more interesting.
This weekend I will be trying to play catchup on all of my to-do items that I’m behind on.
Okay, I’m not going to get them all done, there are just too many, but I think I can make a dent. Maybe.
I’ve got a gazillion emails to return, websites to update, blogs to update, and I need to figure out where the heck I am on some projects.
If I’ve missed doing something, someone will yell at me. That is one thing I can count on.
What’s coming out this year
During the first three months I have stories in three separate anthologies: Mercury, Venus & Mars in the Superversive Press Planetary Fiction Anthology series.
This means many hours of promotion.
It’s the one area that I sometimes think that I’m just a hamster spinning my wheel.
Then, I am editing Earth, which will be out in April in time for Earth day if all goes as planned.
I’ve been reading through some fantastic submissions. I’ll have a list up hopefully by the end of January with the stories included. I can’t wait for you all to read them.
I’m still plugging away at my novels and shorts.
Okay, that’s a lie.
My writing is at a stand still at the moment while I’m working on other stuff.
I’m hoping to get back to it next week now that the bulk of the Superversive SF blog redesign is mostly done. There is still some tweaking to do, but that’s minimal.
First up this year will be Courage of Martyrs, the sequel to Path of Angels. The first book came out back in March of 2017. I had planned on getting the sequel out last year, but I got buried in an avalanche of other work, plus travel, so it didn’t get done. I don’t know if it will be out by March, but I’m gonna try.
Then, it’s a toss up between Relic Hunter and The Ri: Changelings. Last on the list of current WIPs is Calling of Saints.
It’s a rather ambitious goal, 4 novels out this year, but I’m going to work at getting those done since I have a bunch of others waiting in the queue.
This year, I’m cutting back on my cons.
I’ll be an attending Liberty Con, Dragon Con and Siouxper Con with maybe some quick visits to a few other local cons, but that’s it.
All of the travel was too much last year.
Between the planning and the recovery, it seriously cut into my work time.
It was fun, but I need to get things done.
Stick With Me
2018 is going to be exciting. I hope you stick around for the ride.
