I’m not sure if I should be happy or sad about that.
It’s been an odd adventure. This blog started out on Blogger back in October 2006. It was doing fairly well for traffic, but I didn’t like the interface, so I later moved it to WordPress.
My traffic plummeted, I kept it on WordPress for a few years hoping that I could get my traffic back up to previous levels, which wasn’t that much to begin with, but no such luck. So I moved it back to Blogger.
There is nothing like messing with followers like moving your blog around to where they can’t find you.
Note to fellow bloggers: Put your site in one spot and leave it there.
A few years ago I setup my own domain and moved it to a self-hosted WordPress site. I left it on a subdomain, because I wasn’t quite sure where I wanted my writing career to go.
This year I moved it to it’s permanent home here, where it’s going to stay…if it kills me.
Up until the last few years or so, this blog has mainly been a diary of sorts for me to track my writing progress.
Some years I have a handful of posts and other years, a few more. In all I have 283 posts, including this one, published on my blog.
I am still never going to be as consistent or as informative or as interesting as other bloggers, but that’s okay. This is my little corner of the internet and it’ll be whatever I make of it.
For now it will continue to be a place to share what I’m up to with writing, new things I’ve learned, book covers I’ve done, places I’ve been too, and the occasional commentary.
Here’s to 10 years and hopefully another 10 years. By then I should have a few things published.
