This past Sunday I was on The Catholic Geek radio show hosted by Declan Finn talking about the Little Sisters of the Poor and the Supreme Court.
The good news is that I survived and Declan is still talking to me.
The bad news is that I obviously didn’t prepare enough info for two whole hours. Thank you, Declan for the assistance.
My public speaking experience is very limited if you don’t count my teaching religious educations (aka CCD) to a bunch of elementary kids. I have done one television interview for Mary’s Choice and presented a webinar on book cover design at the CWCO. And now I have a live radio show under my belt.
Doing an interview for a television program that will be heavily edited is an entirely different experience from doing live presentations. If I go blank, which I did multiple times on Sunday (thank you caffiene for wearing off right before going on air), the dead spots will be edited out in a recorded interview, with live programs, not so much.
If you’re interested in learning more about the Little Sisters of the Poor case and/or the Supreme Court listen to the replay of the show, then skip on over to SCOTUSblog or the Becketfund for more in-depth details.
When listening to the replay, please remember what St. Teresa of Avila said: The more one suffers on earth, the less they have to suffer in purgatory.
