Hi, Aadi here. I am chatting today with Josie, the star of An Unexpected Role by Leslea Wahl<\/a>. Let’s get started.<\/p>\n

[Aadi] Who are you?<\/p>\n

[Josie] Hi, I\u2019m Josie, your average high school teen, just trying to make it through the perils of high school.<\/strong><\/p>\n

[Aadi] What part do you play in the story?<\/p>\n

[Josie] I\u2019m the leading lady in this story about my amazing summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

[Aadi] How would you describe your book?<\/p>\n

[Josie] It\u2019s a fun adventure with a mystery and a bit of a love triangle between me, handsome scuba dive instructor Niko and super cute baseball star Ryan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

[Aadi] Tell me about where you live? Who do you live with?<\/p>\n

[Josie] My home is in Minnesota where I live with my parents and little brother. But this story takes place on a South Carolina island where I take refuge from the problems of my life and stay with my Aunt Lily for the summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

[Aadi] What\u2019s the most important thing in your life right now?<\/p>\n

[Josie] Back at home it was surviving my very clicky high school and being involved with my school\u2019s theater department. On Coral Island I\u2019ve been focusing on re-discovering myself after the horrible incident that happened on the last day of school.<\/strong><\/p>\n

[Aadi] What do you like about the other characters from you book?<\/p>\n

[Josie]I met a bunch of interesting people on my summer adventure including a Hollywood producer and his very energetic daughter, as well as this incredible family of immigrants. And my new summer BFF happens to be my aunt\u2019s neighbor Mr. Thompson. He\u2019s this elderly military vet who always helps me with advice. Of course I first have to decipher the message hidden in his intriguing military tales, but once I figure it out it\u2019s always good.<\/strong><\/p>\n

[Aadi] What\u2019s the worst thing someone ever did to you?<\/p>\n

[Josie] Well, my mom\u2019s an author and I had to deal with a lot of pranks and cyberbullying after her new book was released which everyone thought was about me. That\u2019s why I left Minnesota for the summer, to get away from it all.<\/strong><\/p>\n

[Aadi] Read any good books?<\/p>\n

[Josie] Well, since my mom\u2019s Young Adult novel basically ruined my life that\u2019s a bit of a touchy subject. So, I think I\u2019ll pass on that question.<\/strong><\/p>\n

[Aadi] What type of places do you hang out in?<\/p>\n

[Josie] This summer my favorite place has been the beach at Shipwreck Cove for sure.<\/strong><\/p>\n

[Aadi] What\u2019s the most beautiful thing you\u2019ve ever seen?<\/p>\n

[Josie] Coral Island \u2013it has been an oasis in the tragedy that my life had become. (Okay that sounded a bit over the top. In case you haven\u2019t noticed I have a bit of a habit being a little dramatic. \u263a)<\/strong><\/p>\n

[Aadi] Who would play you in the movie?<\/p>\n

[Josie] I think Melissa Benoist from Supergirl would do a great job.<\/strong><\/p>\n
